The Soap Tribune, Issue #004--hair wash day December 03, 2020 |
Hair Wash DayHair washing is an event for me. It has been since I was a little kid.I wash my hair every 3 days. That's the perfect schedule for me. Sometimes it's 5 days or the rare 2 days between washings.
Here's an article on shampoo techniques. Olive Oil Shampoo Bar techniques For example, I washed my hair an extra time, after I accidentally tipped the table made out of 2 x 4's, that my indigo was on. This was the year my dye studio was set up in the greenhouse for the summer. The indigo was in a blender carafe, sitting on that make shift table. It all happened very quickly. The table tipped, and the carafe flew up in the air, flipped upside down and dumped the indigo all over the greenhouse. Some of the gloppy fermented indigo landed on top of my head and very slowly ran down onto my neck, while I ran for the hose. For those of you who aren't familiar with indigo, it smells. Looks great. Everyone loves indigo blue. Our Olive Oil Shampoo cleaned me right up and, because of my shampoo method, my hair was not over washed and straw like dry.
