It's strawberry Season!There's so much going on in Ithaca this weekend, but you have to make time to get to the Ithaca Farmers Market because it's strawberry season.You may be able to get strawberries in a plastic clamshell box at the grocery store. They may even say the word "organic" on the label. But there's absolutely no comparison to fresh picked, local, organic strawberries. Be selective. Every farmer is different and they grow different varieties. Get strawberries from a few different farmers and conduct a taste test. Some are bigger and juicier, while others are smaller and sweeter. Yummy! alone or in your breakfast cereal or with some yogurt. I'm going to make some jam, and maybe a few ice pops. Remember to visit us in booth 6.
Summer cleaningSummer is a time for getting out and about, seeing everyone in public places that you didn't frequent during the Winter.Summer cleaning expands outside the house, if you live in the Northeast US. Especially if you live in the country. Laundry gets hung on the laundry line, washed hair brushes dry on the picnic table, vegetables get washed in the garden, the grill gets cleaned after every cookout and the cat litter boxes get washed outside. Kitty litter cleaning can involve a lot of single use plastic garbage that is unnecessary. If you make a few adjustments to your cleaning routines, you can eliminate all of that garbage and still maintain a clean litter box that your cats will actually use.

Small business rocks!On your way up to Woodstock and Menla Mountain Retreat, make sure you stop in at the Todd Hill rest Area on the Taconic Parkway. It's a beautiful drive. They just got a delivery of soap and lip balm!Menla Mountain Retreat is a great escape to the Catskill Mountains. Plus, all of the soap throughout the whole retreat is our Instant Liquid Soap. Take a break from your busy life, get a massage, eat the local food that they grow. It's a beautiful place. If you need a little excitement you can go to Woodstock, which is the next town.
