The definition of soap:

1. A cleansing and/ or a lubricating agent, made from a mix of fats, oils, and salts, creating bars and liquids.

2. A slippery way of getting something accomplished, through bribery, manipulation, or oratory methods.

Going with soap as a cleansing agent, all natural soap is made from a mixture of oils and / or fats in an alkali solution. When done in the right conditions, this mixture will saponify, creating soap through a series of reactions. Saponification is the name of the organic chemistry.
