How much soap money does a shower cost you?

Let's say you spend $6.00 on a bar of soap and it lasts for 7 days of showers. That's $.84 per shower.

For your next bar of soap, you spend $10.00. That seems like a lot of money, except it lasts for 8 weeks or 56 showers. That's $.18 cents per shower. F.Y.I.: One bar lasts me and Andy 6 weeks of daily showers - 84 showers. That's $.12 a shower.

What does exfoliation mean? Exfoliation is the action of removing dead skin cells  and dirt build up on the skin's surface, thereby promoting new skin cell growth. New skin cell growth deep cleans the skin.

Natural exfoliation methods should be gentle so as not to disrupt the skin's barrier against microorganisms, which can lead to other issues.

Different parts of the body benefit from slightly different exfoliating methods, depending on skin type, skin issues and sensitivities, and how often skin is exposed to the weather.

Everyone's face, hands, elbows, body, scalp and feet all have different skin care needs. Different parts of your body will have different skin care needs from other parts of your body. Some places may have dry skin, while others have normal skin, and other parts have oily skin.

How to exfoliate skin from your face

Depending on your facial skin type, and whether or not you have a beard, will depend upon your face exfoliation method.

It is recommended to use natural bar soap that will leave your skin moisturized and hydrated, while you remove dead skin from your face.

Remove dead skin from your face: dry skin

Dry skin:

Dry facial skin can be delicate and will likely exfoliate simply by washing with soap and water, applied to the face with sudsy hands. Wet your hands with any temperature water and gently splash a small amount on your face.

Rub a good bar of soap in your hands to create a rich creamy lather. Rub the lather on your face massaging in a circular motion, with your fingers. Rinse with your desired water temperature, using your hands to splash water on your face or gently pat your face with a wet washcloth to remove the soap. The rinsing will remove dead skin cells.

Wash your face like this twice daily. Apply cream or lotion once or twice daily as desired.

Moisturizing bar soap rinses off well, and a little bit of lotion stik rubbed on your face in a circular motion, while your skin is still damp, can be very soothing. Gently pat dry with a towel.

Remove dead skin from your face: oily skin

Oily skin:

Oily facial skin can tolerate more washing and more vigorous exfoliating action. Exfoliate with a loofah sponge or loofah washcloth or soft facial brush.  A loofah sponge with good bar soap works well to invigorate your skin. It also works very well as an exfoliating body scrubber.

Splash any temperature water on your face. Wet the loofah or facial brush and rub it on a bar of soap.

Using circular motion, gently scrub your face. Make sure there is enough soap in the loofa to leave a nice amount on your face.

Rinse your face either using a wet washcloth, or get a little more exfoliating scrub and rinse using a natural fiber facial sponge.

Either pat dry with a towel or air dry.

How to exfoliate skin from your body

Remove dead skin from your body by making it part of your daily personal hygiene  routine. Use a loofa or sea sponge in the shower or bath for your body. It will make your bar soap's life longer, while also gently removing dead skin cells.

Tough Guy bar soap is great for feet and heels, especially for calluses and dry skin. Wash feet with the Tough Guy bar soap and water. This will remove dead skin cells. Dry with a towel. For further exfoliation, take a pumice stone and gently rub it on the bottoms of your dry feet and on your heels. Dry skin will flake off and leave your feet relieved and rejuvenated.

If you have dry elbows, try using Tough Guy bar soap with pumice and poppy seeds. If your elbows are very irritated, making them dry and cracked, gently wash with bar soap and water using a wash cloth. Pat dry with a towel and apply Lavender Mint Calendula lotion stik or oil, such as olive oil or coconut oil.

Remove dead skin from your head while shampooing by scrubbing gently or vigorously (depending on your taste) with your fingertips. This will stimulate your scalp and feel great. Click here to read about solid shampoo Olive Oil Shampoo Bar and natural shampoo techniques.
